Veterans'
Remembrance
The Post continues to lay wreaths and flowers on
patriotic holidays at the Courthouse monuments honoring all those from
the Llano area that have served honorably in the Armed Forces of the
United States and the war between the states.
Community Flags
The Post plans to help the downtown community in the
display of American flags during patriotic holidays. Currently the flag
holders and/or poles are in need of repair at many of the local
businesses. Once this problem is corrected, more flags can be put on
display.
Movies at the Lantex
The Post sponsors popular movies to be shown at the
Lantex Theatre on the main square in Llano as a community service and
fund raiser.
Llano Military News
Group
The Post is a partner with the Llano Military News
Group headed by Cindy Burleson. The Group recognizes and supports those
from the local community now serving in the Armed Forces of the United
States and are stationed here and abroad.
Welcome to the Llano Military News Group
My name is Cindy Burleson and I am chairman of the
Llano Military News Group.
Our group honors local Llano County Active Duty
Soldiers. To date Llano County has 55 Active duty Soldiers serving our
Country. To be including on this list each Soldier must have graduated
Llano High School.
Each year the Llano Military News Group had a Rally
on the courthouse square on Armed Forces Day. This is to bring
recognition and to honor our Local Soldiers.
In the past few years the Military group has hand
made signs to post on the courthouse lawn during the rally. These signs
are made of paper and are tossed each year. This has been a lot of work
on the group. This year we have had an offer by a local sign company to
make plastic signs that can be stored and reused each year. The
American Legion has agreed to keep the signs for the Military Group
until they are needed.
Each sign is costing 25.00 each for a total of
1375.00. The Military News Group is in need of monetary donations to
help purchase signs to display our Soldiers names.
This years Armed Forces Day Rally is May 20th at
1:00 PM on the Courthouse Square.
Thank you so much for your support in Honoring our
Soldiers!
